many of you might know that my mom, maxine ramey own’s a quilting & creative sewing shop in north carolina called a stitch in time.  well, we’ve all known that it was something pretty special for years now, as it is still to this day the most beautiful shop i’ve ever been in.  and you know what? quilt sampler thinks so, too!

her shop is featured in this quarter’s quilt sampler magazine where they feature the best and most beautiful quilt shops all across the country.  yeah for you, mom!  isn’t her shop pretty? if you want to see more, you can find an entire shop tour on video by going to her website.

this is actually where i worked for the few years before i started ghtr, so i know first hand what a dream-like place it is.  nestled in the mountains of franklin, north carolina, it’s one shop you’ll certainly want to stop by if you’re ever in the area.  plus, there’s so much sight seeing and fun things to do around the town, you could just make a vacation out of it!

pssssst! i’m mentioned in the above article, if you click on it- can you find me? :)

each shop featured was to design their very own quilt and publish instructions to it, and this is the one my mom designed.  pretty, isn’t it?

she has kits available and they ship worldwide, if you would like one, just contact a stitch in time!

i love you, mom! xo, bonnie

  • Wow! This is awesome! What a beautiful store! I feel like I got to meet a famous person a the indie craft parade now! Hope you are well!

  • How awesome! I’m pretty close to Franklin, definitely need to check out her gorgeous shop!

  • I love her philosophy of helping people quilt as a ministry. Faith and the arts takes so many forms – as unique as people and their tastes!

Congrats to your mom, well, the whole family! =)

  • Bonnie, thank you for such a sweet post. You may feel like I inspire you, but it is the other way around. Because of the time you spent at the shop, it has your personality all through it! You taught me how to “think outside the box” and we’d surely still be in the dark ages without your computer expertise in setting up our POS system. I still miss you for all those reasons! I love you! Mom

  • woo hoo, yay mom!!

  • congrats to your momma! what a lovely shop…and what a wonderful relationship the two of you have :)

  • Was just by your moms shop yesterday. I just love the shop and your mom. I was so thrilled when I found out she was to be in the magazine. You are correct, you do have a beautiful and talented mom and you should be proud. Of course you should proud of yourself too because that talent has been pasted on to you. Hope you are enjoying your new digs way out there in CO.
