welcome lovelies! my name is bonnie and this is where i roost. i hope you'll grab a cup of tea and make yourself comfy- we look forward to getting to know you! you can learn more about me and why i love to blog

To help save our planet, we recycle and use compact fluorescent bulbs throughout the house. We have new energy star appliances, and reused our old ones into our rental units. I ride my scooter to work as often as possible, instead of driving my car. We use our own bags for shopping. We use Kleen Kanteens and a “safe” plastic water bottle instead of buying bottled water. I use lined fabric wraps instead of plastic bags, and reusable containers instead of covering leftovers with plastic or foil. We never use paper plates. Finally, (bordering on TMI) I use a Diva Cup instead of sanitary products.
I am committing to use my cloth bags more when I go to the stores. I want to stop using plastic bags when I go shopping.
I want to start using fabric wraps instead of plastic baggies, especially since my oldest is starting kindergarten this year and he’ll be taking a lunch everyday.
We dont flush when we pee … :)
Hey! Greetings from Portugal!
Ok, so here goes…. We recycle almost everything…
…I leave the car at home as much as possible…
…and we have tons of reusable bags!
I’ll let you know more tomorrow!
We open the windows instead of turning on fans :)
I use reusable shopping bags as often as possible – almost always all the time (but mine are ugly so I’m pumped about winning a gorgeous one!)
I have reusable snack bags to cut down on Ziplocs :)
I send my loyal Etsy customers their orders in pre-mailed mailers :)
I try to think of ways to turn trash into art (this is sometimes a flaw, lol!)
We’ll be getting a puppy soon and I plan to make tug-o-war chews from old clothes….. and I hope to feed the new pup organic-only food and treats to make sure the Earth is treated well.
Last one, I promise! :) I work at Chipotle, where they use as much organic, natural, and grass-fed ingredients as possible – check out their website, it’s pretty cool. Here in Nebraska, all the meat is naturally raised, grass fed, no awful feedlots going into my lunch. :)
Lol @ Lindsay’s pee comment. I guess we do that too but I didn’t have the chutzvah to publish it, haha! Too funny. The Baker’s I buy my groceries at has a new flusher lever in their bathrooms, where you push up for pee and down for poo, which I think is hilarious, but it does conserve a ton of water, so I have to applaud that. Ha! :)
I bring my cloth grocery bags when shopping, recycle, reuse glass containers by making art projects out of them, compost and use our car as little as possible and walk instead. Beautiful bag by the way!
i’ll use the reusable bag everyday – i use them for all my shopping, not just the grocery!
conserve more and more water – when we take a shower, we collect water in a bucket for our plants
hmmm maight be TMI but we don’t bathe everyday. AZ is too dry anyway & it saves some water
i’m planning to start a garden
so i’m also planning to compost
i have enough old tubes and compacts from MAC cosmetics to turn in and get a free lipstick!
we try not to have too many leftovers – everyone talk about getting the right food, but you have to cook responsibly, too!
i’m going to try to be more green in my business – i already use recycled materials for my work, and recycled packing. i’m greening my cards and marketing, too!
I am still exploring the whole green movement and
how to stir into my life. So far, I am exploring what
eco-friendly clothing I can buy and recycling whatever I
can. I keep going to the website: http://www.ecouterre.com
for inspiration and tips.
I live 4 blocks away from work so I walk unless its pouring outside!
I use reusable shopping bags.
I recycle at home and recently have got all the guys at the drum shop (my work) to help recycle there also!
When it comes to fabric and even the clothes that I wear I have really been making a point to buy second-hand, except underwear and such :) re-use, re-use, re-use!
We recycle.
We use recycled toilet paper.
We eat as much organic food as we can.
We buy organic milk.
We bring our own organic cotton and recycled cotton bags.
We pick up plastic bags that are blowing in the streets or stuck in trees and recycle them.
We encourage our friends and family recycle and buy organic, as we do, and explain the benefits of doing so.
We grow organic. ie: organic soil.
I educate myself on the many different ways and benefits of going organic or recycling, by reading.
We turn of lights when we are not in the room or using them.
We use natural, no dye cleaning products.
We use as little water as possible when we brush our teeth and wash.
We use cloth napkins.
I use reusable grocery bags
We recycle as much as we can, and will be doing a lot more when we move later this week (I’m putting together a small recycle center)
