my neck of the woods
October 21, 2010
i think we should just take a minute to soak in the beauty that is around us. this time of year, the colors of autumn are brilliant and i can’t help but be in total awe, every year.

these two photos are taken from the great smoky mountains, the place that i call home. every autumn the mountains come alive with the most vibrant colors of red, orange and yellow.

and these two are taken from the great rocky mountains, the new place that we call home! i feel incredibly blessed to be able to call such beautiful places ‘home’ and not one day goes by that i don’t appreciate their beauty. i realize that the leaves don’t change everywhere, and other places in the world are just beginning to say hello to the green of spring, so my question is… what do the leaves look like in your town?

Wow!!! sooooo beautiful!!!
looks beautiful bonnie! the leaves are done and mostly fallen in Minnesota now, but we are still enjoying the time before the snow arrives :)
Here, there was one amazing day of peak fall color a couple of weeks ago (as amazing as it gets in the upper midwest) and the very next day when I had my camera with me it was dulled somehow, not as brilliant. That fascinates me that it can change so quickly!
These are stunning pictures, just stunning :)
So beautiful! I’m just in awe. My jaw dropped when I saw these.
I live on the south east coast of South Carolina so leaves don’t change color here yet they find their way into my yard and I have to rake them several times a year.
One day I will travel to see such beauty. I’ll be wrapped up in so many layers of clothing, though!
My word, that is beautiful. The Smoky Mountains are one of my favorite places, but I’m blessed to live in the fantastic Appalachians. We’re just past our peak now, but I’m loving the sound of the chilly wind blowing the crunchy leaves everywhere. Bliss.
In Lansing, MI the trees are almost all bare now, but last Monday they were beautiful! If you’re interested in some photos, check out the link below – it will help illustrate why Michigan is such a hot spot for filming right now!

Those photos are stunning, Bonnie! The leaves haven’t turned here yet, and I’m getting a little impatient. It’s one of my favorite parts of fall.
Oh! Oh my goodness that is really beautiful scenery! I’m very jealous. I currently live in Texas where the leaves go from green to chartreuse to dead and on the ground.
That first photograph is breathtaking!
So pretty and the colors are so vibrant. Here in St. Louis we have lots of changing leaves, in all sorts of colors. I’m lucky to live near a beautiful wooded area and love driving through the windy roads and looking at all of the different colors around each turn.
wow…fantastic photos…I have seen a lot of blogs as of late, but these are stunning! thanks for sharing…
