happy friday, friends! we were really busy this week so many of our meals weren’t as involved as usual, but they were hearty and wholesome as usual. my favorite was probably this spicy tempeh and broccoli rabe with rotelle (thanks for the recommendation, eliza!). what was yours?

monday: pumpkin pizza wreath served with a seasonal salad
tuesday: noodles and vegetables with sesame dipping sauce
wednesday: fried black rice with ginger tofu and spinach with no bake cookies for dessert :)
thursday: spicy tempeh and broccoli rabe with rotelle (picture via vegan yumminess) served with a warm butternut and chickpea salad
friday:  farmer’s market corn chowder

what was on your plate this week? any favorite recipes you’d like to share?

    Hi Bonnie!
    I’m making the pumpkin wreath tonight… I can’t wait…yum!

What does your weekly grocery shopping look like? Do you do mostly farmers markets/local places? Do you menu plan based on what’s on sale or just what you and the hubs are craving? I love learning how other people do things!

  • hey jessica!! how was the wreath? yummy, i hope!

i usually plan my meals and go to the store on wednesdays, for two reasons: 1) that’s the same day the farmer’s market is downtown and 2) i get 15% off from a booster’s club discount i bought from the high school, haha!

so, i go with a list and since we’re on a budget, i definitely try to shop what’s on sale. we solely shop the farmers market (or get a CSA box) and our health food store, so keep an eye one sales helps a lot. i feel like it’s a healthy mix of cravings and good planning. :)

    what about you?
