reminisce by bonnie christine for art gallery fabrics

hey friends! today i get to FINALLY share my BIG news with you, something i’ve been wanting to do since november (and teasing you along the way)! i am so (so so so so) excited to announce that i am art gallery fabrics newest designer! eeeee!

many of you know, being a fabric designer has been a dream of mine for many years, and i couldn’t be more excited that it’s finally coming true! most importantly, it’s with my most favorite company. art gallery fabrics is modern, fresh and fun. their cotton has a superior thread count and fine weave, which gives the fabric a super soft and luscious feel.

my first collection with art gallery is called reminisce. it was inspired by sunshiny days and simpler ways. it’s full of sweet summery hues and has a very vintage feel to it, and it will be coming to stores in june!

in celebration, we’ll be chatting about all things fabric, designing and blogging today on two different talkin’ tuesday twitter chat sessions! follow hashtag #talknt2 for our first chat from 1-3pm EST and #talknt for our second chat from 9-11pm EST tonight. you can come join in the conversation and ask us anything! for more info on talkin’ tuesdays, check out this post.

tips:

>> i use tweetchat.com to easily follow and participate with the chat sessions, check it out!

>> find me on twitter here: https://twitter.com/gohometoroost

bonnie christine logo design for m.newsom photography

the titles i keep coming up with to describe what i do never cease to change (blogger, creative, entrepreneur, sewer, designer..), but one i didn’t imagine i would give myself anytime soon was brand developer. alas though, it’s happened. and it was fun.

when meghan contacted me to ask if i was interested in designing a logo for her photography business, m.newsom photography- i have to admit, i was a bit hesitant. though i knew i had the skill set, i hadn’t really put myself out their as a logo designer yet. meg and i seemed to instantly click though, so i told her i was interested in hearing her vision. when received, i knew we were a match made in heaven. she wanted something soft and sweet, but memorable too.

above is the branding board i created for meghan. it was so incredibly fun to design and though my time is limited, i really hope to be able to do some more in the future! the key for us i think was being able to see eye to eye on the vision, which made the whole experience really exciting, fun and rewarding.

here’s a little excerpt from meghan: “You’ve done such a great job translating my vision, and I’m so thankful and happy. You’ve just gone above and beyond everything I could have asked for, Bonnie. Thank you for sharing your talent with me.”

isn’t she the sweetest? visit her stunning photography blog, and be sure to hit up her facebook and pinterest pages, too!

i need your vote! :)

 i need your vote!

hello, friends! i am so excited to share with you that after submitting a few designs to uncommon goods’ summer picnic design challenge that three of my designs were chosen to go on to the next round! what does that mean? well, if you would like to see any of these at your next summer picnic, i need your vote! 15 designs were chosen for this stage and the 5 with the most votes will go on to be judged by their panel for the final product decision (voting ends march 28th).

after taking a glance around, i would be so excited if you cast a few votes! you can vote for as many designs as you like (that’s 15 votes folks!), and are welcome to leave a comment at the bottom of each design as well.

more about the challenge:

uncommon goods gave the designer a prompt and a few color choices. these designs will be turned in to actual stamps (which will be sold with the picnic plates and cups!), so they had to be pretty simple. basically, they needed to be summery, simple and picnicky.
