look at those legs!

images clockwise: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

my latest home interior obsession? legs. though i’m a lover of all kinds of unusual legs, i’ve been especially inspired by the hairpin variety lately. don’t they give a beautifully unique and modern feel to the furniture they hold? between some old barnwood i have and maybe a tree slice, i’m planning to make a few simple side tables soon and will be using hairpin legs (available here) to support them. i’ll be sure to share them with you when i’m done!

useful & beautiful

have nothing print by kelly cummings

though i’ve lived by this philosophy for a long time,  i’ve never seen it so beautifully illustrated. when it comes to things in my home, if it’s not something i cherish then it’s out. each time we move and set up a new home, i like to take things slowly. i really try to feel out which spaces need what and try not to just start putting things away without giving each piece much consideration. it’s turns out to be a slow process, but one well worth the effort. this is also why i love to thrift and antique when we travel places. some of the most special pieces in our home have come from different places that we’ve been together. i love it when the things in my home have a story to tell.

NotARug + coupon code!

notarug + $10 coupon code (5)

attention pattern lovers! when sophia contacted me about partnering with them to share NotARug with you, i couldn’t say yes fast enough. i immediately fell in love with their product, their mission and their sweet souls. NotARug is a small canadian based handmade company run by sophia, an interior designer and her husband mohammed, an aerospace engineer (!). sidenote: they also happen to run lil helper, a beautiful cloth diaper company. yup, they’re one talented couple!

just what is NotARug? well, its “not a rug” in the conventional sense of the term. it’s fabric, it’s 2 layers & it’s not woven. inspired by the flat woven dhurries of india, sophia and her husband started NotARug, to give pattern lovers their fill of color & bright sprights on a rug.

notarug + $10 off coupon code

since my home is primarily decorated with solids, greys and whites, i chose the grey honeycomb rug- and i absolutely love it! it’s soft under our feet, bound beautifully and goes perfectly in our living room, don’t you think? it stays in place well and has a great ‘heavy duty’ feel to it. if you’d like a bit more color though, they have tons of options- all made from designer canvas fabrics.

notarug + $10 coupon code (1)

now for the best part, sophia and mohammed have generously offered to give an exclusive discount to ghtr readers! simply enter code ‘GHTRTAKE10′ at checkout to receive $10 off your order (not valid on sale items). thanks guys!

emma hayes

in my opinion, the ink collection by emma hayes is totally swoon worthy. i just want to drench my walls and bed in her watercolor wallpapers and textiles. i love the navy hues and abstract dip-dyed look they have. based out of new zealand, emma is inspired by nature and uses a mix of traditional hand printing techniques and digital processes to achieve the look she’s going for. the result? magnificent.
