emma hayes

in my opinion, the ink collection by emma hayes is totally swoon worthy. i just want to drench my walls and bed in her watercolor wallpapers and textiles. i love the navy hues and abstract dip-dyed look they have. based out of new zealand, emma is inspired by nature and uses a mix of traditional hand printing techniques and digital processes to achieve the look she’s going for. the result? magnificent.

artwork

finally getting some artwork hung around here! 2 greenhouse prints from megan boltz (purchased via the homeground), someday cottage print from katie daisy & a faux deer head from white taxidermy.

the august break (4) this month, i’m excited to be participating in the august break, where i’ll be sharing photos with you from my personal life each day and taking a break from writing “regular” content for going home to roost. meanwhile, i’ll be preparing our hearts and our home for baby roost’s arrival and taking some very special time to spend with my love before we welcome our first son into the world. find out more about the august break and how to join here.

pillows

we’ve been living with several plain ol’ white pillows for months now. i’ve always intended to cover them, but somehow it just got put on the back burner.. until yesterday, that is! i spent the day making several covers for our bland whities and am really happy with the results. they sport a simple envelope closure on the back for easy removal and washing. the cursive fabric is from ikea and the resin ‘x’ canvas is a print by david butler.

what’s been you’re latest crafty endeavor?

a colorful workspace

a colorful workspace (1)

a colorful workspace (2)

as i’ve been working on setting up my office/sewing/craft room this week (pictures coming soon!) i’ve been drooling over the images from this colorful workspace from lundia finnland (a custom shelving company in finnland). they’re exactly my style. i find that having a blank white canvas refreshes me and adding pops of color inspires me. i love the open shelves, organized folders, comfy sitting areas and beautiful artwork.

well that’s it for me, i’m off to finish organizing my own colorful workspace!

in love with... prism terrariums

i just can’t get enough of these pretty glass prism terrariums. they’re perfect for creating little micro climates and can be planted with either moss or succulents (or both). hang them, set them on a desk or place them in front of a window to create an eclectic green space in your home! if you’d like to learn more about how to plant a terrarium, i really enjoyed this how-to video from sprout and know you will, too.

textiles from fred shand

i think i’m a little late to the game, but i just recently discovered and fell in love with fred shand’s incredible textiles! an artist based out of brooklyn, new york, fred did this incredible line of quilts and sofas for anthropologie a few years back. i’m in love with the rugged chic look, abstract lines and soft textures. i just want to curl up on that sofa and take a nap under one of these beauties!

i hope you all have a lovely weekend! see you back here on monday. xox, bonnie
