there’s just something so sweet and romantic about these crocheted covered mason jars. i love how the delicate soft yarn wraps around the glass, as if to give it extra protection from breaking. i would particularly love to have some with hangers, so i could plant them with succulents and hang them in a nearby window!

lately, i’ve been all but obsessed with bringing a few trees inside. after adding this tree to our space, i just can’t get over how fresh and airy it makes the place feel! plus, they work  as incredibly good air filters. i’ve done quite a bit of research on which plants are best for indoor use, and i’ll be sharing them with you a little later this week, so stay tuned!

do you have any trees in your home? if so, what kind is your favorite?

wallpapered stairs

vintage wallpapered staircase

after we move in to our new place, i’ll have a set of stairs that lead nowhere other than my very own lofted studio space. since the entire area will be dedicated to creativity, i’m thinking about doing something inspirational to the staircase itself. you know, something to get my creative juices flowing before i even arrive.  i love how sarah over at sarah moore vintage wallpapered these stairs using scraps of vintage wallpaper she’d collected over the years. though it’s a busy look, i think the style and colors really pull together to give it lots of sweet character. doing a simple search for ‘wallpapered stairs’ will quickly give you a glance at all the possibilities a little wallpaper can provide!

i spy at ikea

i spy at ikea hanging planter | sommarfint tray | mandal headboard | rattan bowl | side table | watering can | money tree | wood log fabric

yesterday, my sister and i hopped over to our closest ikea. with notebooks and cameras in hand, we had a full day of planning projects, making notes and walking about (a lot). while becky was occupied planning out closets and pantries, i was busy brainstorming ideas for our new place and my booth at quilt market next weekend (eee!). needless to say, it turned out to be a full day’s work and we both came home happy and inspired- despite our tired brains and sore legs. above are a few favorite things i spotted while visiting, a few of which i purchased and a few that i’ve written down for future reference. with so much going on in the next few months i’m sure i’ll be visiting plenty!

fern wallpaper

fern wallpaper

i just love carla and jack’s home, especially their remodeled bathroom. the wallpaper is called all over coral by york wallcoverings, but i love it because it looks like a collection of ferns straight from the forest floor. i think the dramatic foliage does wonders for this small space, and looks great paired with the white accents and simple round mirror.

spring bulbs

each day as the ground becomes warmer and little buds begin to sprout, i squeal with excitement as spring flowers begin to bloom. one of the things i get most excited about is having fresh cut flowers in my home and on my table. to me, there’s nothing more refreshing or beautiful than keeping flowers in the spaces where i spend the most time. i hope these springtime place settings will serve as inspiration for your upcoming gatherings!
