greenhouse prints at the home ground (1)

i’m totally in love with the new prints over at the home ground- they are simply breathtaking! i wish i could visit this greenhouse and thumb through all the plants as i walk down each isle (i have a thing for greenhouses). it’s like succulent heaven in there! the new series of prints is by the talented miss megan boltz, which may look familiar to you if you remember this post? yes, i’ve been in love with this look and collection for a long time. which is why i’m so excited that they turned this shoot into a series of prints!

printic: the app that sends photos (5)

last week, i discovered printic and was immediately enthralled. an app that sends photos to anyone, anytime? yes! you see, i really appreciate this digital world where we can take photos anytime and browse through them on our devices, but sometimes i miss good ol’ hard copy photographs. i miss being able to hold them in my hands, send them in the mail and pin them on my inspiration boards. printic brings together both the digital and tangible worlds by letting us order photographs right from our phone, sending them to anyone in the world.

printic: the app that sends photos (3)

each photograph only costs 99 cents, which includes shipping. they also get delivered within 3 business days! one way in which i hope to use this app is to send snapshots to our grandparents and long distance friends. a lot of times, i feel as though our grandparents are missing out on our life since they aren’t seeing the photos we post around the web, so i think sending them the occasional photo through printic would be really special!

printic: the app that sends photos (4)

head on over to printic to download the app. first time users get 50% off (hence my large pile of photographs)!

Ranunculus

clockwise: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4

one of my dear friends cut me a bouquet of ranunculus from her garden several years ago, and it’s been one of my favorite flower ever since. so many petals layered one on top of the other make it seem as though they go on forever! what’s your favorite flower?

a love note

hey everyone! in honor of valentine’s day, i just wanted to say.. well.. i love you! thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of going home to roost, and helping to cultivate this amazing creative community. you guys are the best, seriously! i couldn’t do what i do without you (nor would i want to) and it means so much to me that each of you stop by each day to check in on what’s going on in the land of ghtr. i hope your day (and every day) is filled with love, light and laughter and that you get to spend it with your most favorite person on earth.

speaking of, my most favorite person on earth just called and wants me to meet him in town this morning, so i’m signing off to spend the day with my love. see you tomorrow! love, bonnie

artifact uprising (6)

one of my favorite gifts i purchased this year was this book for david from artifact uprising. i’m constantly taking photos with my phone and as i was browsing through them one day, realized just how much they meant to me. each of them are full of memories, and remind us of the places we’ve been and things we’ve done.

artifact uprising (3)

the moment i discovered artifact uprising, i fell in love. their photo books and memoirs are sensational, and their love for preserving photography really shows through. they strive to cultivate creativity and community, and make telling our stories easy and beautiful. they believe in archiving the story for future generations, and moving our stories off our computers and into our lives.

artifact uprising (2)

when it dawned on me, i was so excited. i wanted to make a book of the most momentousus photos from 2012 and show them in chronological order. it would be a picture book of our entire year! and i plan to make one at the end of every year, so that we can start building a library of our lives through pictures.
artifact uprising (4)

i quickly downloaded all the photos i had taken and shared on instagram (i used this handy site) and since they were already in chronological order, my job was easy. delete the ones that didn’t have much meaning, and keep the ones that were special (ok, that part wasn’t actually that easy). i then used artifact uprising’s built in designer to make the book and ordered it right away.

artifact uprising (5)
It arrived just in time for christmas and it was so incredibly beautiful. the pages feel so good it really makes you feel like your holding something extra special- and to us, we’re literally flipping through the pages of our lives.

when i heard about beth wold’s latest project, i thought, ‘i have to share this with going home to roost!‘. in a nutshell, beth has made over 1000 of her stunning photographs available for anyone to purchase, download and print themselves. you can use them for any personal use, which means you can print them, frame them, make cards from them, print them on canvases, give them as gifts, etc!

here’s just a sneak peek of her work:

here are all the details, straight from beth!

What: Get a special price of just $7 per photograph

When: Friday 11/2 – Sunday 11/4

Where: Beth Wold’s Website

Why: I love photography, and I love taking photographs. I love it so much so that I had a surplus of 1,000 great images sitting on my hard drive that didn’t quite fit in with my Fine Art Portfolio collections. After some thought I got the idea that I could use this collection to help people get affordable images for their homes. Two problems solved – I have a purpose for my previously lonely photographs, and buyers can get quality photos for inexpensive prices.

How: The buyer purchases the photograph through my secure shopping cart, and they are emailed a link to the download. The download is available for 10 days from purchase

just in time for the holidays, these would make wonderful prints to use as gifts- head on over to beth’s site to browse her collections!

a girls best friend

this is a magical post. before viewing it, take a deep breath and place yourself frolicking about in the nearest forest, a place so quiet you can hear your own breath.
