goodies sent out to the roost tribe during july (12)

hi everyone! i’m here to share this month’s recap of the roost tribe, which gives you a sneak peek of what roost tribe members received during the month of july. if you’re interested in receiving, it’s not too late to get it all! i’ll be sending out a recap on thursday, july 31st,  to the roost tribe with all of the content in it from july so no one will have missed anything, regardless of when you might have joined during this month.

that means, that if you join before thursday, july 31st you’ll still get all of july’s content + august’s content as well- that’s two months for the price of one!

whew. got it? :)

this pattern collection is called summer flowering. it was inspired by garden rows and flowering ground coverage. :) you can print them, frame them, make cards from them, use them on your blog, social media sites, use them as wrapping paper, etc! i

these mini tofu ‘crab’ cakes are creamy and seasoned to perfection. adding dulse seaweed (or nori seaweed) gives them a flavor from the sea. no one believe that they’re completely plant based!

i’ve fallen in love with photo overlays. they are such a great way to add a visual caption to your snapshots!

for years, i’ve only planted vegetables and herbs. there was a direct payoff for all my hard work- food! it wasn’t until about a year ago i realized how much i enjoyed having flowers in my yard. freshly cut flowers bring me so much joy as they brighten my home and fill it fragrance. arranging a bouquet of flowers is relaxing and peaceful. so, i’m excited to share with you that i have just planted my first ever flower garden!

i just love a good bunting banner, don’t you? i have one strung in the eve of my house, in my sewing room and by the artwork in our living room. now, i have one for bear’s room that says ‘hello bear’. (see below!) with the entire alphabet and 10 numbers to choose from, the possibilities are endless! make a banner for birthday parties, surprise parties, dinner gatherings, summer soirees and more. (also available here)

an inspirational desktip + iphone background. this quote has meant a lot to me for a long time. if ever i question my career, i always remember how passionate i am about what i do and how thankful i am for that. you are passionate about something for a reason. i encourage you to choose to follow your dreams!

adding textures to your illustrations can really warm them up and give them a nice hand crafted look. in this video, learn how to add subtle texture to your illustrations by using scatter brushes in adobe illustrator. (also available here.)

after watching this brilliant video, i got to thinking about labels and marketing and how they affect our lives. they are everywhere, yet there still needs to be more of them. they can be overwhelming, confusing and downright deceiving. this article introduces several labels that you should keep an eye out for – some to avoid and others to support.
