inspired naturally

this beautiful work comes from kate macandrew, a mixed media artist from england who is obviously, inspired naturally! i love how she combines her passion for nature with her ability to take beautiful photographs, paint and draw- and she shows all three in each of her art prints.  each print has so much character and depth, and seamlessly takes your right in to nature.

make sure to also check out her beautiful blog (hint: designed by the darling tree, who is also designing the new theme for ghtr!)

lucile's kitchen

lucile is a french artist who has just opened her inspiring little space on etsy- lucile’s kitchen. she’s been drawing and painting since she was a small child, and now finds herself living in her kitchen.  can’t we all relate?  the kitchen is my favorite room in the whole house.  i find myself getting inspired there as well, and lucile translates all those inspirations onto paper.  how beautiful!

i know, today is supposed to be an etsy shop help day, but i’ve decided to skip it and resume next week.  as i mentioned, today is the warmest day we’ve had in since last summer and i want to get outside and enjoy it!  the hub is going on a fly fishing float trip and invited me to join, so i’m going to seize the opportunity.  i won’t be fishing, but have a backpack ready to go with a picnic, my camera and plenty of good reads.  i won’t be fishing, but rather soaking up the sunshine.  i hope you don’t mind my foregoing the usual!

i’ve still got something great in store for you, don’t worry!

love 8×10 print

by now, you’re probably all familiar with natalie’s blog love, natalie.  have you ever wondered where her daydreamy banners come from?  you guessed it.  she paints them herself and i’m so excited to share with you that they are now available in her etsy shop!

grow 8×10 print

aren’t they so beautiful?  i ordered mine this morning!

happy (hopefully) sunshiny day!

a line of her own

cheetah swirl :: jackrabbit swirl :: bird swirl :: mouse swirl

with all these swirls and curls debbie’s art makes me happy.  you can find just about anything at a line of her own, from a dipper and a lynx, to a frog, an otter and even an ibex.  and, she’s the only gal i’ve come across who can make a skunk and a mouse look perfect for my house. ;)

have you all been reading young house love?  if you’re looking for design, decor, diy projects and home renovation, this blog is loaded with inspiring projects, useful information and tons of the ‘can-do’ spirit!

pssst! you might want to tune in to ace of base’s ‘the sign‘ to continue with this post!

from gathered inspiration from a recent NYC trip…

the lovely sherry & john whipped these two signs up right on there home computer.  that’s right- and just printed them from their home printer on regular ol’ paper.

after some magic aging techniques and mod podge.. (check this post for step by step instructions).

voila!  two beautiful, chic, diy and totally affordable art pieces!

if you want to check out more of young house love’s delicious diy’s- visit a few of their other homemade art projects: making a magazine monogram, whipping up custom pet art, making free inspiration art, using chalk for freehand wall decor, painting pop art over old art, and creating a bunch of other cheap wall art.

have a lovely weekend!  xoxo, bonnie

working

1. push 2. neva 3. twilight blue 4. untitled

is this artist not unbelievable? her work stuns me.  she’s captured each of these women so beautiful and looking at them makes me feel so pretty and feminine.  artist leigh viner started selling her work in 2003 and is now working on fashion design- oh boy!  she also has a fabulous blog, so go have fun visiting her world!

working

1. homage to lilith fair 2. coucou…i see you… 3. the story of the ugly duckling 4. caught in stardust and wonderlust

this shop has intrigued me since the very first time i saw it.  what creatively captivating work she does.  her shop’s welcome says it all:

“The poetic beauty of each piece is well worth your time to see. I hope that they can provide a renewed sense of quietude to your heart, mind and soul. So…let your spirit take flight in the beauty and awe of your own imagination.”
