nothing reminds me more intently of spring than waking up to the sounds of bird songs out my window. they started singing a few weeks ago and i have woke up with a smile on my face ever since! though i’m not sure exactly what the ones out my window are, i do know that they sing the most beautiful of songs. are the birds singing where you live?

i know we don’t talk about much about babies around here at going home to roost, (i’m sure that will change, somday) but i just couldn’t resist baby jives. i just think these are the sweetest handmade mobiles i have ever laid my eyes upon! with darling butterflies, rainy clouds and smooching birds perched along a branch, can you imagine how fun these would be to gaze up at? with an array of color choices (some more masculine than others) i think there’s one to fit just about any room decor.

i guess i’m in the mood for birds today (that’s no surprise)! above is the beautiful work of natasha newton and i love how she takes her paintbrush off paper and onto other mediums (i especially love these rocks). inspired by the love of birds, nature and astronomy, natasha encourages us to feather our nests! i say, that’s an easy task with any one of her paintings.

though i try to reign in on my use of this word, odette new york simple makes me swoon. there’s just no other word to describe it.

 
handmade in brooklyn, artist jennifer sarkilahti begins each design with a sketch, then carefully translates them by hand into a wax like tiny sculpture.  they are then cast into metal and turned into one of the most unique lines of jewelry i’ve seen.

 

 
with pieces that encompass an organic, natural, bohemian feel- i can’t decide which one is my favorite.  i believe that’s why i would like each of these little charms strung along a necklace. :)

happy monday to you! after a long weekend of over 24 hours of driving, we made it back to our hometown! greeted with both of our familes, good food and warm hugs- we couldn’t be more excited to be home this week for the holidays. helping me get in the spirit, is this new-to-me company, plümo.

when i found gingiber’s shop, i couldn’t stop thinking about how sweet it was.  the cardinal was the first thing to catch my eye- as it’s my favorite bird! every time i see one i know it’s going to be a special day.  with lots of beautiful christmas inspired prints, gingiber makes for the perfect and affordable gift.  she also illustrates pretty calendars, notebooks and nursery art, so be sure to see more at her shop and blog.
