my BIG news!

April 9, 2013

reminisce by bonnie christine for art gallery fabrics

hey friends! today i get to FINALLY share my BIG news with you, something i’ve been wanting to do since november (and teasing you along the way)! i am so (so so so so) excited to announce that i am art gallery fabrics newest designer! eeeee!

many of you know, being a fabric designer has been a dream of mine for many years, and i couldn’t be more excited that it’s finally coming true! most importantly, it’s with my most favorite company. art gallery fabrics is modern, fresh and fun. their cotton has a superior thread count and fine weave, which gives the fabric a super soft and luscious feel.

my first collection with art gallery is called reminisce. it was inspired by sunshiny days and simpler ways. it’s full of sweet summery hues and has a very vintage feel to it, and it will be coming to stores in june!

in celebration, we’ll be chatting about all things fabric, designing and blogging today on two different talkin’ tuesday twitter chat sessions! follow hashtag #talknt2 for our first chat from 1-3pm EST and #talknt for our second chat from 9-11pm EST tonight. you can come join in the conversation and ask us anything! for more info on talkin’ tuesdays, check out this post.

tips:

>> i use tweetchat.com to easily follow and participate with the chat sessions, check it out!

>> find me on twitter here: https://twitter.com/gohometoroost

>> be sure to include hashtag #talknt2 for the first session or @talknt for the 2nd session, otherwise we won’t see your tweets!

see you there!

when i heard about beth wold’s latest project, i thought, ‘i have to share this with going home to roost!‘. in a nutshell, beth has made over 1000 of her stunning photographs available for anyone to purchase, download and print themselves. you can use them for any personal use, which means you can print them, frame them, make cards from them, print them on canvases, give them as gifts, etc!

here’s just a sneak peek of her work:

here are all the details, straight from beth!

What: Get a special price of just $7 per photograph

When: Friday 11/2 – Sunday 11/4

Where: Beth Wold’s Website

Why: I love photography, and I love taking photographs. I love it so much so that I had a surplus of 1,000 great images sitting on my hard drive that didn’t quite fit in with my Fine Art Portfolio collections. After some thought I got the idea that I could use this collection to help people get affordable images for their homes. Two problems solved – I have a purpose for my previously lonely photographs, and buyers can get quality photos for inexpensive prices.

How: The buyer purchases the photograph through my secure shopping cart, and they are emailed a link to the download. The download is available for 10 days from purchase

just in time for the holidays, these would make wonderful prints to use as gifts- head on over to beth’s site to browse her collections!

before and after: planter table

i found this little tray table at the thrift store for $5. i love it’s little tapered legs and rolling wheels!

after painting it with yellow zig zags, it’s now a little planter table and adds the perfect splash of color to our dining room.

before and after: planter table

i used love natalie’s grow print as inspiration, can you tell?  though her shop is temporarily closed, {update! her shop is now open!} you can see all of her watercolor paintings and diy projects on her blog- love, natalie.

before and after: planter table

method:

i only bought one shade of yellow paint, but mixed up a little batch of it with some added white to make the lighter color.  i first painted the top light yellow, then used this technique of painting chevrons to tape off the design.  after painting the whole piece darker yellow, i removed the tape and finished it off with a top coat.

before and after: planter table

did you notice my little collection of blue bottles? i got inspired by johnny miller a while back, and have been collection blue and green bottles and jars ever since.  mine needs some work to be anywhere near as beautiful as his, but i think it’s pretty catching the afternoon light.
