hello friends! how was your weekend? can yo believe that christmas is THIS week! are you ready for it? i’m just about ready, but i’ll be tying up some loose ends and finishing wrapping the last few presents today and tomorrow. as i’m inspired by my new favorite blog, nordgrains, my goal this week is to be fully present in everything that i do. as we come together with our families, drive across the country, and eat lots of yummy food- i plan to soak it all in and keep from being mindless about it all. what will you do to keep this holiday from flying by?

 

 

 
as i’ve been spending quite a lot of time exploring e-zines lately, i have to say this winter catalog from lovely clusters has especially caught my eye. it’s a perfectly organized and beautiful gift guide for the season. you can browse by color, category or even by price! rachel does such a lovely job at curating handmade goodies, i think you’ll really enjoy flipping through the pages.

as i ran across tiny white lights, her shop instantly drew me in, i think because of the beautiful color palette.  as i head to the paint store today to pick out colors for my furniture reno projects, this collage will be my inspiration.  strong, rich colors of teal, green, orange and yellow is what i plan to pick up- i even love the grey and white stripes!  plus, these colors only feel appropriate for the coming fall and winter.  who knows, maybe i’ll be able to spruce up this mauve carpet after all?

with clients such as martha stewart, kate spade and real simple, you can bet you’ll see johnny miller’s work in some of the most popular magazines.  he shoots everything from still life to food, but i think my favorite are his interiors.  i’ve gotten so inspired by his photographs and am busting at the seems to put some of these ideas into action. like that adorable yellow screen for door-side goodies? and the ladder for laundry essentials? grab a pen and paper before visiting his website so you can jot down some of your favorite ideas, too!

good morning monday!  how was your weekend? mine was quiet and relatively uneventful, so i feel ready and relaxed for the week- a nice change!

this picture just gave me a good laugh.  it did quite a lot for lightening my mood, so i couldn’t say no to sharing it with you. i love everything about it!  i can see myself touching the curls on her chest and running my fingers down her forehead.  we’ve become quite good friends.  here is my attempted translation of this beaut!
