Mary Kay West
happy friday, friends! i am so excited to share with you the most beautiful yoga clothing today! i am so honored to have recently teamed up with one of my favorite yoga instructors, mary kay west, to help get her amazing yoga clothes on etsy. aren’t they beautiful? i have several pieces myself and can personally vouch for their comfort, ease of wearing and incredible tailoring.

as a long time yogi herself, mary kay west has made each of her clothing pieces to not only stay in place during your practice, but make you look great at the same time (who wouldn’t want that?). she also specializes in pieces that can take you right from the yoga studio to the market and out to dinner with ease. with simple additions like long cardigans and versatile pieces, you won’t be stuck running errands looking like you just got off your mat. tailored to fit just about any body, she has longer tunic tanks, flattering yoga pants and summer blouses that are to die for. click on over to her shop and let us know what you think!

pssst… not a yogi? don’t worry, she also make stunning blouses and dresses!

hap-happy monday, lovelies! great news… it’s time for a giveaway! and this one is pretty exciting if you ask me. :)
shabby apple giveaway
i’m so excited to be partnering with shabby apple to giveaway one of their pretty dresses. if you haven’t already fallen in love with this website trust me when i say that you will! there are so many beautiful womens dresses and skirts perfect for any occasion. they also have maternity dresses, pretty little girls dresses, and vintage swimwear that is to die for.

i think you’ll also find their fit to flatter guide super helpful. all you do is answer 3 questions and it picks the dresses that will be especially flattering on your you specific body type! (i’m a pear.)

moving on! one lucky (lucky) reader will win this adorable white vintage dress – trade winds, a perfect summer white cotton dips and ducks into the nipped waist of this hollywood starlet-inspired summer frock. the double layer dress sports an under bodice of white cotton voile with a sweet white bow belt. pleats at the collar and waist finish it with expertly tailored appeal. can i say swoon?

to enter, just visit shabby apple and leave a comment here saying you did so. want to enter twice? ‘like’ their facebook page and leave a seperate comment saying you did so. it’s easy as that!

the nitty gritty:

giveaway ends sunday, june 12th at midnight. one winner will be drawn by a random number generator. there will be no exchanges on the winning dress, and the winner must have a US shipping address.

madewell

living in the valley just seems to promote an easier way of life. i find that i’m most often in no hurry at all. i’ll walk to the mailbox rather than check it on my way in and somehow easily find time to catch up with friends and neighbors. when the electricity went out for some 4 hours yesterday, it didn’t seem to disrupt my life in the way it usually would have. i like that. an easier way of living calls for an easier way of dressing, and i think madewell screams long walks to the farmers market and strolls along the beach. what do you think? they are my latest favorite shop to browse through.

arrowhead fringe scarf; 59.50. summer sun hat; 38. whisper rainbow dress; 330. sunday stroll shirtdress; 168. market tote; 58. checked paperboy shirts; 59.50. getaway tank; 23. elastic sneakers; 55. ancient river necklace; 45.

really? the talent i find in the handmade arena never ceases to completely amaze me. these gorgeous gowns are handmade by tatyana merenyuk- a new york based ukrainian designer.  aren’t they stunning? some would be perfect for a big event (going to the red carpet, anyone?) while others are just sweet enough for a summer cocktail party. visit the reddoll shop to see more, or visit her website for the full collection.

getting married this year? have yet to pick out your dress? claire la faye has described her work as ‘red carpet, feminine frocks’, and to that i certainly agree. with the debut of her latest wedding line, her work resembles old hollywood glamour with a modern day flair of whimsy, sweetness and frill. with each piece handmade, made to order and affordable for the modern-day bride, i can’t help but be in love her entire line. visit her shop to browse, her website to learn more and her flickr to see many-a-more photos.

happy monday lovelies!  since the weather is getting a bit chilly and pumpkins are around every corner, i can’t help but be consumed with fall.  one of my favorite ways to shift with the season is through my wardrobe!  so, my mission this week is to turn name brand trends into accessible looks through handmade and vintage finds.

first up? fall fashionable dresses- they’re everywhere!  these are all name brand newbies ranging from $68-$250.

fall dresses

clockwise :: 90’s blue and white dress, ready for fall vintage dress, cowboy chic vintage dress, vintage 50’s plaid dress, falling for floral dress, black chocolate dress

here are my vintage finds that will do the trick- all between $16-$68! pair them with a beautiful belt, leggings, some pretty boots or a long cardigan and you’ll be fashion forward before you know it. tune in tomorrow for the next fall look!

welcome to the maiden vintage! i think lindsay riddell has done an amazing job of capturing the essences of long ago.  yes, pictures are everything because she has completely made me want all these dresses that i probably would have passed up on the rack!  that shows my lack of imagination- as she’s turned each of these once-loved treasures into something truly desirable. best of all? she’s having a sale! visit her blog for all the details.
