starfish

when my dear friend amber posted this picture of some starfish she took during her recent visit to the oregon coast, it inspired me to share with you some of my own beachy finds. aren’t these starfishies amazing? i love their colors so much- what a perfect trio!

beachy finds

since we live near the pacific coast now, i’ve found that one of my favorites things to do is stroll along the beach in search of unique finds. we don’t have traditional sea shells on our beaches like i’m used to finding on the east coast, but rather some very interesting shapes and shells. the one above is my absolute favorite (my mom-in-law actually found this one). it’s green on one side, and purple on the other. :)

so there’s the start of my latest collection! i look forward to going back this weekend with my sister (who’s coming to visit, yeah!) to look for some more unique finds. what have you recently started collecting?

thrifty finds

hi sweets! how are you? happy friday! i can’t believe it’s here already. along with unpacking box after box this week, i’ve tried my best to make some time to explore the local thrift stores. and boy am i glad i did! i found several treasures and have quite a few more stores to visit over the weekend. i thought i would share with you what i’ve found so far.
thrifty

first up is this old wooden birdcage. i’ve been keeping my eye out for the perfect birdcage for over a year now, and this one was “it” the moment i saw it. yippee!

an old thermos colored brightly, perfect for a splash of color and to use as a flower vase.

and then there are these. our sofa and chair! found staring back at me at the local thrift store. they were a bit pricey for a thrift store, but were brand new and still wrapped in the plastic, so we splurged. made of 100% natural fibers and weaved with my favorite herringbone design, they are just perfect.

what will you be doing this weekend? i’m off to make a quick trip to ikea, then back here to do some more organizing. have a sunny filled weekend and i’ll see you back here on monday! xxo, bonnie

three potato four

well this is it. my dream store.  i keep a list of vintage finds that i’m on the scout out for, and i think three potato four just helped me mark all of them off the list.  from vintage letterpress letters to nautical preservers, you name it and they have it!  owned by janet morales and husband stu eli, this biz is run by a family full of collectors.  they’ve been busy working on a storefront to open soon in philadelphia, and i may just need to book a trip!

working

i had the pleasure of running across amber’s sweet shop, olive some day, and fell in love!  it’s full of little adornments and all of them are captured so beautifully.  she also has a fabulous blog, appropriately named, she can’t decide.  what a perfect name! i can never decided either- i jump from hobby to hobby and never know what my next creative endeavor will be.  if all of this isn’t enough, she’s got two other adorable etsy shops {funkey finds} & {it’s bella} and has even converted her husband to owning a shop! wow. p.s. don’t you love this lavender wall?
