this week, i was able to sneak away for a bit to go explore the santa barbara botanic gardens. i remember running across their site as i was researching the area before we moved here, and was ever so eager to go! it was quite, restorative and incredibly beautiful. here are a few of my favorite photos from my visit.

this last one is of a tiny little tea house nestled back into the woods. a tea house!

vintage bird plates, antique foliage prints and lots of character are what you’ll find at shaving kit and i’ve got my eye on several of these charming pieces. the old tables, chipping paint and greenery in all the pictures makes browsing this shop a truly lovely experience.

so, i’ve recently discovered the wonderful world of dingbats and vector graphics!  who would have thunk all the possibilities?  these flower silhouettes are a free vector image download, and by changing the color and transparency of them, i was able to come up with this!

these leaf images are dingbat fonts, i used a mixture of arboris folium and wm leaves- both free from dafont.com.

this we love nature flower font is the first one i found that really sparked my inspiration.  isn’t it stunning?  unfortunately, i can’t find it anywhere for free, but you can purchase it right here.

i bet you’ll never think of fonts the same way again.  this one is called gardening font with sue, it’s free and full of little gardening characters!

kalosca flowers is another free download and has a different flower top for each letter of the alphabet.  if you browse the dingbat section on dafont i’m sure you’ll be able to come up with tons of your own inspirations.  let me know what your favorites are!

i could look at *mayxxx*’s photostream for days and days.  so many feelings get evoked as i go from page to page, and by the time i’m done, i fell a little lighter, brighter and much much happier!
