sometimes i can find myself all wrapped up in the ‘go go go’ of this world, forgetting about my mission to lead a simpler way of life. just taking some time to soak in some images of simple moments can help me recenter myself, my goals and my priorities. i hope a few of these pictures will help you do the same!
do you find yourself getting caught up in the fast pace of this world? if so, how do you return to living a simpler life?

it’s always fun to start with a blank slate. with our recent move to a new home, i’ve been so excited to start deciding which direction i’ll be taking the new digs. this is just a little inspiration board i’ve been building over on pinterest, and hope to acquire a few of these lovelies over the next few months. my vision is to use a lot of neutral, solid colors (mainly white) and mix and match farmhouse simplicity with rustic cabin charm. can’t wait to start sharing some tidbits with you! for now though, i’m off to work on all these boxes..

i use baskets for just about everything. in fact, i don’t even have a drawer for my socks! i keep everything from scarves to dog toys in baskets of all kinds, so this diy for painted baskets from the marion house book really stood out to me. every time i go thrifting, i now scour the isles for big baskets- i would especially love to find some large round ones like these pictured above.
aren’t they beautiful? head on over to the marion house book to see the full tutorial.
and just for some added inspiration, i also love these dipped-dyed baskets from martha. oh, the possibilities!

sometimes, i girl just needs some solitude.
don’t get me wrong, i love company, enjoy being around friends and family, and thrive on having time with husband- but at the same time, i love being alone. in the quiet. at home, in nature or sometimes just going to the farmers market can give me some much needed clarity and time to reflect. i often get most inspired when i’m alone and constantly have to jot down ideas, thoughts and motivations.
do you crave solitude?
psst. #9 is me! :) follow my solitude board here.
