poisonberry holiday showcase

poisonberry is a dreamy little place. born out of a little cabin studio in the woods of northwestern montana, what first started out as a hobby has now turned in to a full time creative outlet. britt creates ethereal pieces that reflect the beauty in nature that surrounds us. perfect for everyday wear, i especially love the ‘flip necklaces‘, that can simply be flipped around to give a completely new look!

*EXCLUSIVE discount for GHTR readers! Enter code ‘ROOST25’ during checkout to receive 25% off your order. thanks, britt!

art by meghann rader

not to continue on my kick for all things mountainous or anything, but i just can’t seem to get enough of it. i love meghann rader’s artwork because she seems to tie together so many of the things that i love: nature, geometrics, jewelry, woodland scenes and animals (not to mention killer photography). hop on over to her shop, website or blog to see more!

a vintage summer

Brooke Schmidt

when i saw brooke schmidt’s photography, i instantly knew that we had kindred spirits. she sees beauty in all things great and small, and turns to nature for inspiration and joy. here’s a little excerpt from brooke in her own words,

“When I walk, I look for birds’ eggshells and snakeskins and feathers. I collect pyrex, painted japanese teapots, hand-carved wooden animals and embroideries of birds. I listen to books on cd read by british readers.  At night I often find myself walking outside to check on the stars. I keep lists of the books I read, bake often, and grow hops, beets, lavender and nutmeg thyme in our garden, among the flowers.”

brooke’s work and words take me to a simpler time, to a vintage summery day where the breeze is warm and the flowers are blooming. i’ll meet you over at her shop and beautiful blog!

spring pickin’s

dearest nature

today i want to share with you a little project that i’ll be participating in, and invite you to join in as well: dearest nature’s spring pickin’s!

dearest nature is a brand new blog from the lovely donaville of discover paper. it debuted on the first day or spring (of course!) and has absolutely blown me away with amazing content over the last few weeks. all of their posts (decor, diy, food and more!) are all inspired by nature- something very near and dear to my heart! it’s not only a stunning blog to view, but also one of the smartest layouts i’ve ever seen (click over to see what i’m talking about). so, it’s quickly becoming a daily obsession of mine, especially since nature is my ultimate inspiration. i know you’ll love it too!

what were we talking about? oh yeah, spring pickin’s! this is a project all about nature, of course! if you join in, the mission will be to capture things that nature has left in our path. it could be from a nature walk or from your own back yard- from your dslr or from your iphone. the point is to capture nature’s gifts and post them on your blog on the 19th of each month (until summer). to join in, visit dearest nature and leave a comment that you’ll be participating (this way, donnaville can include you in her monthly roundups!).

happy spring!

sasha prood typography

sasha prood

in sasha prood’s artwork and typography, you’ll find animals, plants and roots of all kinds (my favorite!). i recently discovered her beautiful work on dearest nature (a new blog that i’m quickly becoming addicted to) and seriously fell in love with her delicate illustrations of the natural world around us. sasha creates all of her work using pen, pencil and watercolor and has a portfolio that i’m pretty sure i could look at forever. i hope you’ll be inspired by her lovely work!
