christmas handmade items

one of my favorite photographers, elle moss, recently put together this treasury, which inspired me to put together my own version of the red nosed reindeer! i couldn’t help but fall in love with the pale blues contrasted with the bold reds. the colors remind me of sitting next to a warm fire and looking out the window at a blue wintry day.

christmas dressed in plaid

vintage red wool plaid blanket ($47), fleece earwarmers ($18), snowy swag ($70), bears love flannel shirts ($20), festive wool coasters ($12), paddington iphone case ($40), pinstripe pillow cover ($16.50), weathered stack ($20)

in moving to colorado, the mister and i only assumed that we were in for a long chilly winter ladened with snow. welp, not yet. my hometown in north carolina is covered in inches,  and our high today is 65°F!  i’m sure we’ll be in for it eventually, but right  now i’m feeling awfully left behind. we’ll be going back home for christmas, so here’s to hoping for a snowy cozy christmas, dressed in plaid.

remember my back porch makeover? today i’m going to share with you one of my thrifty diy projects that gave the space the right kind of feel- a thrifted frame tray!

frame tray before

i bought this lovely from goodwill for a buck.  beautiful, isn’t it?

frame tray after

i painted the frame with high gloss white spray paint and then covered the cardboard insert with this red print fabric (from ikea). i secured it with a little hot glue and voila! i had a matching tray centerpiece within about twenty minutes!

i think we’ve had a good week here, don’t you?  i’ve had so much fun chatting with you all!  i’ve got some more really fun stuff planned for next week, and hopefully i’ll be fulfilling a promise i made long ago on monday- i’m at least going to try!

i had so much fun doing my first mood board, that i’m going to stick to what i said and do some more!  this one of course, was inspired by valentine’s day. cupcakes, cinnamon cookies, dark chocolate and russian tea- yup, that about sums it up!

do you see the soap bar in the middle? that is yummy chocolate soap by mojo spa- and it’s incredible! it smells so delicious.  what could be better than having permission to rub chocolate all over your body? :)

pretty little things like these vintage buttons really me, i love looking at all the little details in life.

mood board

what are you doing for valentine’s day? i think we’re going to lay low this weekend and spend the day at home with movies and a nice dinner.  i really want some new bubble bath, i haven’t had any in months! so i’m just putting that out there- sweetie, did you catch that?

xoxo!
