napkins, you say? yes, napkins! this diy project comes to you from made and just made me so excited (get it?).  literally made from ikea napkins ($2 a bag) and twist ties, this project packs a ton of bang for it’s buck.

with so many variations- you can make magnolias, roses or even chartreuse-stripey flowers like this one! i think they are incredibly chic, and would be perfect to string above a table, decorate a wedding with or add some punch to empty wall. visit made’s wallflower tutorial for more beautiful pictures and photographed instructions to take you step by step.

i used this same technique before to make diy business cards, but thought this idea for save the date cards from ruffled was just fabulous. you can find these stamp kits at most any office supply store and they are great for so many uses, and i think they add a really lovely vintage feel. wouldn’t they be cute to use as return address stamps? what ideas can you come up with?

i miss the rain. colorado gets over 300 days of sunshine every year. my hometown in north carolina gets just under 100. though the sunshine is wonderful, i miss the pitter patter of rain drops on the roof, a day off from running outside, and a special time to curl up with a good book and gaze outside the window. i also miss what the rain brings. green luscious grass, gardens galore with plants of all kinds and flowing streams and rivers around every bend.

lucky for me, they make umbrellas for both rainy and sunny days alike. i’ll take any one of these fabulously feminine canopies.

For those of you who are already married, you may have loved deciding all of the details for your wedding! I know I did. I was in heaven with all of the cake tastings and time spent picking out colors and favors and of course – the dress.

I got married almost 5 years ago, before I had even heard of Etsy – yet we still managed to have a handmade wedding. I designed and made almost everything myself for our wedding – from favors to invites to table numbers and beyond. From there I knew I had to find a job that was more creative, I considered becoming a wedding planner or even a baker, but ended up deciding that web and graphic design was the direction I wanted to take.

I am amazed at everything that is available online now to help brides have the perfect handmade wedding – whether you decide you’d like to make things yourself or to purchase from the many vendors on Etsy.
